Item

(YY-MM-##)

Brief Description

Action Taken / UPDATE

date

0305:02

P Bede reported recent incident in difficulty removing an injured employee from unit.

Note:  Item had been elevated to National H&S Policy Committee as advised by S. Sabatini April 2004.

D. Harder to check status                                                          MOTION TO CARRY

0412-01

W Hayman letter re concern about the sanitary conditions on locomotives

C Koutroumanos reported MS Golden perform a thorough trimming of coal MT’s going to the mines.  On their return the loaded movement, MS performs a quick trimming.  These are the only MS services on the BCI.  Other trains going across the Service Area are handled at either Alyth or Coquitlam depending on their origin.  These trains by-pass Golden and are therefore not serviced by MS on the BCI.

Committee discussed the fact that train crews should be responsible to clean up after themselves.  Daron Harder advised this issue has not been elevated to the Policy Committee.  He will go back to Kevin Sholes and pursue a system wide bulletin                                                                                        MOTION TO CARRY

June 9

0412-04

B Gardali reported there is a concern with regard to the weight of packs that RTEs have to carry with all their rule books, etc

D Harder contacted S Sabatini for advisement to elevate to Policy Committee.   Sergio has requested Committee forward their recommendations with regard to what needs to be downsized, etc.  Paul & Bob to followup.      MOTION TO CARRY

June 9

0504-01

P Bede requested units have instruction decals installed for the new radios

Paul advises instructions are on the radio but the way they are installed on the unit you can’t get access to it.  Jack & Paul will pursue options.      MOTION TO CARRY

June 9

0504-02

B Templeton advises the middle seat on units are not being maintained and they are required with the new Trainees
