Fellow Union Brothers and Sisters, This letter is to advise you that all Rail Traffic Controllers on Canadian Pacific Railway are presently on a legal strike. We are on strike for wage parity with Rail Traffic Controllers at Canadian National, and we oppose the company’s demand that we enter into a co-pay arrangement for our Dental, Health and Vision Care coverage. Also at issue is the Company’s attack on our work rules. At present, we have Labour Board charges pending against Canadian Pacific Railway for failure to bargain in good faith. In our complaint, we allege that since negotiations began on September 21st, 2002 , the Company has promoted an inordinate number of our members into management positions in an attempt to undermine our Union . We also assert that the Company is training former Rail Traffic Controllers who voluntarily left the Company some time ago, which include spouses of current CP Management. Please advise your Brothers and Sisters of our dispute and ensure that all work safely, as the highly qualified Union Rail Traffic Controllers are off the job.
