| Brothers & Sisters, The BBQ held in Revelstoke
July 23rd was a great time and we raised $3719.69
and counting. I just received 2 more calls today from members wishing
to
donate. As you can see from the attachments it was a lot of fun and raised
awareness of the issues amongst our members in addition to the money.
There
were members from the BLE, UTU, BMWE and even some sisters from CUPW and
all
desrve credit for their donations.
The expenses for the event should be less than $800 and will be picked
up by
BLE 657.
This money was from member donations and continues to come in. The
Revelstoke BLE, UTU and BMWE locals have all donated from our funds
totalling $7,680.
So the total from the Revelstoke membership from 3 unions and individual
donations is nearing $12,000.
I highly recommend throwing some sort of event. Ours was put together
with
the simplest planning possible so it went from motion to event in one
week.
The Elks bought and cooked the burgers and billed us at the end. We put
up a
few tarps and tables and it was all torn down by 2130.
There are no reports from 2130 on......
