Four Major Issues

1.                  Benefits

The company wants employees to start paying a portion of their benefit coverage. Our members are already paying the full Alberta Health Premium and have no short-term sick benefits.

2.                  Work Rules

The company wants to eliminate current work rules so they could arbitrarily assign work duties, including combining desks instead of adequately staffing them with spare RTC’s.  This raises productivity and safety concerns not to mention increasing stress in an already stressful profession.

3.                  Retirement

The company wants the right to refuse an employee 55 years of age with 85 points the right to retire.

4.                  Wages
CP is seeking parity with CN Rail Traffic Controllers by equalizing the number of pay levels.
