Re: Assigned freight pool Shuswap sub.

Dear Sir:

This letter is to inform you that, in accordance with Section B) of AGREED PRACTICE #5 ASSIGNED FREIGHT POOL SHUSWAP SUBDIVISION, the members of BLE Division 657 wish to cancel this agreement effective May 27, 2002.

The union has taken this position as a result of the company's cancellation of the Revelstoke yard and the possible effect this may have on these jobs. The company has not communicated to the union how the cancellation of the Revelstoke yard will affect these jobs and we wish to see the plan as well as monitor the effect over the next few weeks.

I am available to meet with you or any other company representative to discuss this agreement and any specific problems that may arise as a result of the above noted change. Should we be able to address the concerns, I will report to our next regular meeting May 21, 2002 and seek guidance from the members on this issue.

Please contact me so we may arrange a time to meet and discuss this important issue.

Sincerely,

G.A. Edwards
