AGREED PRACTICE IN EFFECT AT REVELSTOKE, B.C., BETWEEN 
CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY AND THE BROTHERHOOD OF LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERS DIVISION 657



LIMITATION OF AGREED PRACTICE/APPLICATION OF COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

A)  This Agreed Practice is supplemental to the Collective Agreement
    and, except as necessary for the implementation of this agreed
    practice, the Collective Agreement will apply.


B)  This Agreed Practice is effective Dec 8th, 1998 and,
    this practice will remain in effect until cancelled either in
    whole or in part, upon seven (7) days' notice from one party to
    the other.

AGREED PRACTICE #4 - ASSIGNED FREIGHT POOL MOUNTAIN SUBDIVISION

Effective 0001, December 8th, 1998. Trains Extra East and 991 will be operated between Revelstoke and Field with two (2) separate assigned Locomotive Engineers operating on a first - in, first - out basis. This pool will be known as the Mountain Subdivision Assigned Freight Pool with two assigned crews known as jobs "A" and "B" which will be ordered on alternating days as follows:

a)   The assigned Locomotive Engineers will be called for the first eastbound train between 0900 and 1300 from the Home Terminal (Revelstoke).  If no connection can be made between 0900 and 1300, the assigned crew will be deadheaded to Field by Greyhound Bus or Taxi to protect 991 ex Field.

b)   The assigned Locomotive Engineers at the away - from - home terminal will be called for train 991. If 991 is cancelled or a connection is not possible by 0400, the assigned engineer will be called to deadhead to Revelstoke, unless mutual arrangements can be made between the crew members and the NMC to work train 991 to Revelstoke.

c)   Fixed rate of 173 miles will apply to the assign crew on train 991 ex Field to Revelstoke which will include payment for switching at Golden, BC   All other switching payments will be over and above the 173 fixed rate.

d)   When train 991 is relieved enroute a minimum of 148 miles will be payment for the tour of duty.

e)   All miles earned by the assigned train crew will be excluded from the mileage check for the unassigned Mountain Subdivision Freight Pool.

f)    When scheduling problems occur this agreement may be reviewed and altered by mutual agreement after consultation between the company and the union has taken place.

g)    Permanent and temporary vacancies will be filed in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement, Local Rules and Agreed Practices.

h)    This understanding will not result in any added expense to the Company nor will it cause any delays to time sensitive traffic.

Assigned Freight Pool Mountain Subdivision

Do to changes in the designated symbols of the trains involved in this agreed practice, all references to train 991 shall apply to train 471.

Agreed practice #4 shall apply to all unassigned locomotive engineers manning train 471 on the Mountain Subdivision out of Field.
