Crews Staying at Golden

When taking a train into Golden or When The Highway is closed

Any crew being held at Golden for a train departing the south yard east or west will add on 40 minutes once at the Administration Building for the taxi time for their off duty time (ie) 1600 at Golden = 1640 off duty.  This must be communicated to the OM in conversation or by voice mail and they will record the time.

Any crew being held for a train in excess of 1 hour will be entitled to accommodations at the Resthouse.

A crew can be held at Golden as long as a train departing the south yard is planned. This will include 608 type trains from Golden to Field that a crew might be lined up for a Golden turn ex Field could elect to stay at Golden.

A crew that is being held at Golden and the train fails to show for any reason the crew will be sent to Revelstoke by taxi. and 137 flat rate to apply.

In all cases the crew being held at Golden cannot be run around by a crew at Field and crews at Field cannot be run around by crews at Golden. If unsure if the crew at Golden is going to be first out after adding on the 40 mins to Field, then the crew MUST be sent to Field.

Crews due to circumstances beyond the Company's control, such as impassable road conditions, it becomes necessary to take rest en route (Golden), will be transported to the nearest location where necessary accommodation and eating facilities can be provided. Rest will commence when accommodation is reached. Upon expiry of rest if booked, the crew will be eligible to take a 1 hour and 30 minute call for a train at Field, from the rest facility at Golden. (deadhead time to Field will be exclusive of the one hour thirty minute call.)  The crews will be transported by taxi to be in position at Field for the call time of the train.  (Crews will be paid for actual deadhead time to Field above the trip ticket)

Employees who give proper notice to book rest en route will, in all instances, be transported to their objective or home terminal in a vehicle provided by the Company, or on their own or another train, unless the circumstances above are applicable.  This does not relieve the Company from having crews off duty at their objective terminal within their respective hours.

NOTE: (Golden is not an objective terminal)

The Company will not be involved in runaround claims resulting from incorrect information given by a RTE’s or failure of RTE’s to notify the CMC of their proper placement.
